Winners of Marie Osmond’s Quilting Challenge!

Click for larger imageAfter receiving hundreds of beautiful, handmade quilts from all over the country, Janome America, Inc., Marie Osmond, Quilting Treasures and Advantus announced the winners of Marie Osmond's Quilting Challenge: First Place winner Dean Deerfield of Midland, TX, Second Place winner Natalie Moun of Wheaton, IL, and Third Place winner Gretchen Stumme of Rochester, NY.

Using Marie Osmond Quilting Treasure fabric, the contest challenged quilters to create an original quilt and bring it into a participating Janome dealer where it was entered into a drawing to win a Marie Osmond Quilter's Companion from Janome. One quilt from each dealer was selected for the national round, where Marie picked the 10 quilts as finalists. The 10 finalists received $400 worth of prizes. The quilts were posted on Marie’s site, www.marieosmond.com, in April where online voters selected the first, second and third place winners. The 10 finalists' quilts were auctioned on eBay Giving Works, all proceeds of which were donated to the Children's Miracle Network, the charity Marie co-founded. All contestants had the option of donating their entry to their local Children's Miracle Network affiliated hospital.
