Reliable Corporation improves its popular home
pressurized steam iron for crisper clothes

Click for larger imageGarment makers, dry cleaners and tailors have known for years that using pressurized, dry steam transforms ironing from a tiresome chore into an effortless task. Now, consumers can enjoy the same benefits from home. New from Reliable Corporation, professional ironing and fabric care product manufacturers for over 50 years, the J490A -- a steam iron for those serious about their garment care.

The J490A incorporates the company’s revolutionary CSS™ (Continuous Steam System) technology to provide a continuous flow of pressurized, dry steam that works steam into the fabrics faster -- literally cutting ironing time in half.

Additionally, the new iron is the first system equipped with an Anti-Calc Warning System -- based on the hardness of the water being used, this system alerts users when minerals in the water have built up and may clog the inside of the unit. Specifically, users program the boiler with the level of hardness of water being used (based on the litmus paper supplied) and the system will automatically let them know when it’s time to use the de-scaling powder supplied -- significantly extending the life of the iron.
